SOCIAL INFORMATION GATHERINGS 2025 (SIG 2025)
Social Information Gatherings 2025 (SIG 2025) is organised by the IS4SI Special Interest Group “Emergent Systems, Information and Society” and partners
as part of the IS4SI Summit 2025 to be held online 10-14 June 2025 and/or in-person in Varna, Bulgaria, 23-28 June 2025
The objective is to gather scientific communities and researchers for the discussion of topics that focus on information, on information technologies and on information society from a social and human sciences perspective that allows a critical stance on the state of the world. Social information is a term that signifies all information processes and their results in the human realm. They comprise cognitive, communicative and co-operative activities and actions of human agents, be they single or collective actors. Understanding these social information processes and structures is key to the transformation to convivial societies, a sustainable civilisation on our planet and meaningful technologies.

• ICT in Military Affairs (Hans-Jörg Kreowski). Together with FORUM COMPUTER PROFESSIONALS FOR PEACE AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
• Global Issues of Social Epistemology (Kang Ouyang). Together with INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR SOCIAL EPISTEMOLOGY
• Generative Aspects of Noise (Yagmur Denizhan, Cécile Malaspina, Sha Xin Wei). Together with WORKSHOP ON THE GENERATIVE ASPECTS OF NOISE 2025
• AI generated Arts (Renate Quehenberger)
• Impacts of AI on different target groups (Irena Mostowicz)
• ICT and Information, Simulation, Desinformation (Tomáš Sigmund)

Other Tracks are still in consideration. The format of the Tracks shall be defined appropriately (presentations, workshop, panel, round table, poster session, exhibition etc.). Calls for Papers, if applicable, will be organised by the Steering/Programme Committee according to the deadlines of the Summit.
